Introduction​

We rolled out an update for our shipping software in UAT, Piyovi version v24.07.01, on July 8th, 2024. Below are the release topics and their details.

1. Rate Shop​

In our previous release, we introduced a separate interface screen for Rate Shop using only the Zip Code. However, some carriers required additional details such as City, State, and Country to provide rate shop results, leading to errors.

To address this, we implemented a solution allowing users to continue using only the zip code for rate shopping. The system automatically handles and passes the required fields to carriers, ensuring seamless rate shopping.

2. Carrier Pickup Requests​

In some cases, users failed to provide a Contact name when placing a pickup request, causing some carriers to fail to validate the pickup request.

To resolve this, we now default the contact name to "Shipping Department" if the user does not provide it. This ensures that the pickup request proceeds smoothly.

3. Packing Details in Shipment Report​

We enhanced our reporting module for Shipments to include Packing Details, accessible under a new tab labeled Packages. This improvement is available in both Excel Export and Master Export formats.

4. Default Descriptions – Location​

Previously, only one Default Description was permitted for locations, visible under Additional Options on the shipping screen. We enhanced this option to allow users to add multiple default descriptions. These are now presented in a dropdown list, giving users flexibility in selecting the default description they prefer. The first value in the list appears by default under Additional Options, but users can easily change it.

Steps to change or add a new value for the default description:

  1. Go to Configuration
  2. Select Locations
  3. Click Edit for the required location
  4. Go to Settings
  5. Under Default Description, add the description and hit enter, then save.
