What is Rate Shopping?
Rate Shopping compares shipping rates from various carriers based on destination, weight, and shipping method. Piyovi provides options for both discounted freight costs (negotiated rates) and published carrier rates. You can choose the best rate depending on cost and estimated delivery time.
How do I apply business rules to a shipment?
Business rules in Piyovi can automatically suggest optimal shipping options, apply customer-specific account numbers, and enforce packing/shipping instructions. These rules are configured by the administrator and can be applied by clicking the 'Find Rule' icon.
What is a Spot Quote?
A Spot Quote allows you to request shipping rates and transit times from multiple carriers for a particular shipment. This feature is useful for ad-hoc shipments where you need real-time bids from carriers.
How do I create a Spot Quote?
First, complete the shipment details and click 'Save'. Then, navigate to the 'Spot Quote' tab and click '+ Add Quote' to create a new request. Select the carriers to send the quote, define the pickup window, and enter any additional details. Once submitted, carriers can bid on your request.
What are the options for reviewing and accepting bids for a Spot Quote?
Once carriers submit bids, the requester is notified. You can view all bids under the 'Spot Quote' tab. Bids can be accepted or rejected, and the system will automatically notify the carriers of your decision.
What is address validation?
Address validation ensures that the shipping address is accurate and complete before processing the shipment. The system automatically verifies, corrects, and standardizes addresses, checking for errors like missing suite numbers or invalid delivery points.
How do I validate an address?
In Piyovi, you can manually validate an address by clicking the 'Address Validation' icon next to the Ship To field, or the system can do it automatically based on your configuration. If errors are found, you will receive prompts to correct them.
