26.07.01
Introduction
We are pleased to announce the release of Piyovi v26.07.01, which includes key enhancements aimed at improving usability, operational efficiency, and shipment visibility. Below is a summary of the new features and updates included in this release.
Display Carrier Chargeable / Dimensional Weight
Until now, shipment details only showed the declared package weight — the weight entered by the user. Carriers often bill based on dimensional weight, which is calculated from the box dimensions and used when it is higher than the actual weight. Since this carrier-calculated weight was never visible, users had no way to see what was driving their freight charges, leading to unexpected billing differences.
Piyovi now displays the Billing Weight returned by the carrier alongside the declared weight in the shipment details. Users can see both values at a glance and clearly understand the weight the carrier is using to calculate the freight charge
Benefits
- Billing transparency — users can see the exact weight the carrier used to calculate charges, not just the physical weight entered.
- Better rate comparison — Rate Shop results show billing weight per service level, since chargeable weight can vary by carrier/rate
Navigation
Shipments → Shipment Details → Packing Units section (new "Billing Weight" field)
Shipments → Rate Shop → Rate results (per service level)
Shipment Details → Packing Units — Billing Weight field shown with the actual package weight.
Rate Shop results — each service level displays its own billing (chargeable) weight.
Note: Affected areas: Shipment Details, Rate Shop results, Shipment Reports, and related Excel exports.
Shipment — Parties Attributes in Business Rule Criteria
Business Rules criteria now include party reference IDs such as Bill To ID, Broker ID, Exporter ID, Freight Forwarder ID, Importer ID, Intermediate Consignee ID, and Shipper ID. Users can now create rules that target specific parties involved in a shipment. Previously, these party IDs were not available in Business Rules criteria.
Benefits
- Greater rule precision — target business rules to specific trading partners or parties instead of relying only on general shipment attributes.
- Broader party coverage — supports Bill To, Shipper, Broker, Importer, Exporter, Intermediate Consignee, and Freight Forwarder reference IDs.
- API support — the new party criteria can also be send programmatically when creating or updating a Business Rule via the external (headless) API.
Navigation
Rule Engine → Business Rules → Add Rule → Criteria (Parties)
Steps
- Navigate to Rule Engine → Business Rules and open Add Rule (or edit an existing rule).
- In the Criteria, click the field selector and choose a party attribute: Bill To Id, Shipper Id, Broker Id, Importer Id, Exporter Id, Intermediate Consignee Id, or Freight Forwarder Id.
- Enter the value(s) to match for that party (e.g., a reference code).
- Save the rule so it applies based on the selected party criteria.
- Optionally, use the external API to create/update a rule with the same criteria (e.g., "BrokerId": ["CIVIC"]).

Number Series
We have introduced Number Series, a new configuration option that generates a unique, formatted reference value for the selected category.
Benefits
- Generate consistent, structured reference values automatically
- Support different numbering formats per location
- Extensible — Number Series will be available for additional categories in future releases( currently it is available for Merge )
Navigation
Configuration → Customization → Number Series
How to Use
Create a Number Series by selecting a category and configuring the format fields. Once active, the system automatically generates the next reference value each time a record is created under that category.
Steps
- Navigate to Configuration → Customization → Number Series.
- Click + Add to open the Add Number Series panel.
- Enter a Name and select the Category.
- Configure Prefix, Suffix, Start Number, Increment By, Number Length, and Padding Character as needed.
- Set Status to Active.
- Click Save.

Configuration → Customization → Number Series — Add Number Series panel with all fields visible.
Configuration Fields
| Field | Description |
|---|---|
| Name | A name used to identify the Number Series |
| Category | The category this Number Series applies to |
| Location (Optional) | Apply this series only to a specific location |
| Prefix (Optional) | Text added before the generated number |
| Suffix (Optional) | Text added after the generated number |
| Start Number | The first number in the sequence |
| Increment By | The value by which the number increases each time |
| Number Length (Optional) | Total length of the number; shorter numbers are padded automatically |
| Padding Character | The character used for padding (default is 0) |
| Format | Defines how the final reference is built. Default: {PREFIX}{NUMBER}{SUFFIX} |
Example
| Field | Value |
|---|---|
| Prefix | delivery |
| Suffix | test |
| Start Number | 1000 |
| Number Length | 8 |
| Padding Character | 0 |
Generated reference: delivery00001000test
Notes
- If a Location is set on the Number Series, it applies only to that location. If no matching series is found, the system falls back to the default reference format for that category.
- Current Number is updated automatically after each use and does not need to be edited manually.
Merge Draft Shipments
Merge is a new feature that combines multiple Draft shipments into a single master shipment. Merge works the same way as Consolidation — the only difference is that the original shipments are not cancelled after the merge. Unlike Consolidation Rules, there is no rule-based configuration for Merge.
Benefits
- Original shipments remain unchanged and are not cancelled
- All items and packages from child shipments are combined into the master shipment
- Reference fields are automatically concatenated across child shipments
- Optional Merge Number Series can generate a structured master shipment reference
Navigation
- Ship → Search icon → Select Shipment dialog → Actions → Merge
- Shipments report → Select shipments → Actions → Merge
How to Use
From the Ship screen:
- Navigate to the Ship screen.
- Click the Search icon to open the Select Shipment dialog.
- Select two or more Draft shipments.
- Click Actions → Merge.
From the Shipments report:
- Navigate to Shipments.
- Select two or more Draft shipments from the list.
- Click Actions → Merge.

Ship screen — Search icon highlighted to open Select Shipment before Merge.

Select Shipment dialog — two Draft shipments checked; Actions → Merge available.

Shipments report — two Draft shipments selected; Actions menu open with Merge highlighted.
What Happens After the Merge?
- A new Draft shipment is created.
- All items and packages from the child shipments are combined into the master shipment.
- The original shipments remain unchanged and are not cancelled.
- The following fields are concatenated from the child shipments and carried to the master shipment, delimited by a pipe (|):
| Field | Child 1 | Child 2 | Master Shipment |
|---|---|---|---|
| Cust Ref# | 4500 | 7892 | 4500 | 7892 |
| SO# | 123 | 345 | 123 | 345 |
| PO# | PO-001 | PO-002 | PO-001 | PO-002 |
Shipment Reference
- If no Number Series is configured, the Ref values of the selected shipments are combined using a pipe (|).
- If a Merge Number Series is configured, the Ref is generated automatically. See the Number Series section for configuration details.
Notes
- All selected shipments must be in Draft status.
- All selected shipments must have the same Ship From and Ship To address.
- Merge does not require any rules configuration.
Default Currency for the Manual Entry Form
The Manual Entry form can now auto-populate a default currency, removing the need for users to manually select it on every entry. This default is controlled through two independent configuration points: the User configuration and the Location profile.
Benefits
- Reduces repetitive manual selection, speeding up data entry.
- Ensures consistency in currency usage across users and locations.
- Gives administrators flexibility to configure defaults at either the individual user level or the shared location level.
Navigation
Configuration → Organization → User → Edit User → Settings tab (User level)
Configuration → Organization → Location → Settings tab (Location level)
How to Use
The Currency Code on the Manual Entry form can be sourced from either of the following configurations:
- User level – a currency code assigned directly to an individual user's configuration.
- Location level – a currency code assigned to a shipping location, applied to all users working from that location.
When only one of the two is configured, that value is used. When both are configured for the same user, the platform applies the following precedence rule: If a currency code is set at both the user level and the location level, the user-level configuration always takes precedence.
Steps
Configure the Default Currency at the User Level
- Navigate to Configuration → Organization → User.
- Locate the user in the list and open their profile for editing.
- Select the Settings tab within the Edit User panel.
- In the Currency Code field, select the desired currency (for example, EUR).
- Click Save to apply the change.

Edit User → Settings — Currency Code field highlighted (user-level default currency).
Configure the Default Currency at the Location Level
- Navigate to Configuration → Organization → Location.
- Select an existing location to edit, or click Add New to create one.
- Select the Settings tab within the location panel.
- In the Default Currency field, select the desired currency (for example, USD).
- Click Save to apply the change.

Location → Settings — Default Currency field highlighted (location-level default).
Verify the Configuration
- Open the Manual Entry form during shipment process.
- Confirm that the Currency Code field is pre-populated based on the applicable configuration (user level, location level, or both).

Manual Entry form — Currency Code pre-populated from user or location configuration.
Notes
- If a currency code is set at both the user and location level, the user-level value overrides the location-level value.
- Ensure the correct currency codes are assigned before relying on auto-population, as incorrect configuration at either level can affect transaction accuracy
Bulk Carrier Account Upload — Import & Export
Carrier accounts can now be created and updated in bulk from a single Excel file, instead of one at a time. Each carrier's Account tab has a new Import option that reads a standard .xlsx template: rows with an existing Account ID update that account, and rows with a new Account ID create one. A matching Export option downloads the current account list in the same layout, so it can be reviewed or edited offline and re-imported.
Benefits
- Supports high-volume carrier onboarding built to handle 4,000+ accounts in one file instead of manual, one-by-one setup.
- Reduces data-entry errors by replacing repetitive manual entry with a single reviewed upload,
- Export-then-edit-then-import workflow makes bulk corrections to existing accounts just as easy as adding new ones.
Navigation
Configuration → Shipping & Compliance → Carrier → [select a carrier] → Account
How to Use
Two new icons appear on the Account tab toolbar: a cloud icon for Import and an XLS icon for Export.
Only .xlsx files are accepted, using the column layout below.
Import template fields
| Field | Notes |
|---|---|
| Account Id / Account Name | Unique account identifier and display name |
| Active | Yes / No |
| Account Number, User Name, Password, Shipping Key, API Key | Carrier-specific credentials |
| Pickup Request Required, Pickup Ready/Close Time, Carrier Pickup Email | Pickup settings |
| Always Consolidate, SFTP, Limited To Location | Yes / No toggles |
| Locations, Shipment Types, Ship To Countries | Pipe-separated multi-value fields |
A Valid Values sheet is included in the template and lists the accepted entries for each dropdown-style field.

Serial Number Validation
Now onwards we are validating the serial numbers in ship for serialized items. it will allow only valid formats.
Benefits
- Ensures consistent and valid serial number data.
- Prevents entry of unsupported or invalid serial number formats.
- Improves data quality and reduces errors during shipment processing.
Navigation
Ship → Items → Serialized as YES → Serial Number
How to Use
When the Serialized option is set to Yes for a item, the Serial Number field becomes mandatory. Then piyovi will validate the entered serial number and accept only the supported formats.
Supported Serial Number Formats
- Numeric – Example: 65789
- Alphanumeric – Example: 456A7667we (supports a combination of uppercase letters, lowercase letters, and numbers)
- Hyphenated – Example: 98-87654 (the only special character allowed is the hyphen (-))

Notes
Validation: Serial numbers containing unsupported special characters or invalid formats will be rejected.
